Immerse Yourself in Classic Masterpieces at the "Image Reconstructed" Exhibition

he digital exhibition "Image Reconstructed" showcases 130 artworks from Cubism by renowned artists Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Jean Metzinger, Fernand LĂ©ger, Marie Laurencin, and Marcel Duchamp.

This marks the first time classic artworks from Cubism were introduced in Vietnam in a digital format, utilising advanced projection technology and meticulously designed exhibition spaces at VCCA. The organisers hope that, through a variety of experiential activities, academic art will become more accessible to the public.

n early February 2024, the Temple of Literature launched the exhibition "Khoi Nguon Dao Hoc" (Prolegomenon to the Tradition of Education in Vietnam) to provide additional information about the Vietnamese luminaries currently worshipped there. 

The materials and artefacts are presented in various forms on traditional materials such as bamboo and wood, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Especially with the unique way of illustration, historical events from multiple dynasties are vividly and clearly brought to life.

Revisiting childhood with the "Ngheu Ngao Khuc Dong Dao"

"Ngheu Ngao Khuc Dong Dao" (Singing Nursery Rhymes) is a project that combines nursery rhymes associated with artist Cecilia Vu's childhood, from her days gathering with peers in her neighbourhood.

Nursery rhymes are a unique type of folk song traditionally sung by children. Typically, each rhyme is linked to a game, with each line corresponding to an action within that game. They are a rhythmic accompaniment to the performance and instructional lyrics for the movements. Over time, various versions of these rhymes have emerged, primarily due to the influence of local languages and variants when passed orally.

Through meticulous historical research and a delicate blend of tradition and modernity, Huy Coon has created four representations of NghĂŞ, each with unique stories and forms, along with patterns showing characteristics of the eras they belong to: LĂ˝ Dynasty (1009 - 1225), LĂŞ Dynasty (1533 - 1789) and Nguyá»…n Dynasty (1802 - 1945).

“Nghê” is the passionate graduation project of artist Huy Coon, aimed at bringing Nghê - a sacred creature in Vietnamese culture - to contemporary Vietnamese society.

TiredCity officially opens 03 stores in the heart of
Hoi An's ancient town

Hoi An is famous in Vietnam and internationally for the integrity of a once-bustling port city. This milestone marks TiredCity's first venture into this cultural land. We have chosen to locate our stores in three Grade One ancient houses - wooden houses that have stood with the history and culture of Hoi An.

We tried to make the entire design "invisible" as much as possible, offering a captivating experience between these wooden houses' timeless grace and young Vietnamese artists' vibrant creativity.

The design of the stores posed a unique challenge for the TiredCity team. We softened the direct light and highlighted the space gently with a series of lantern artworks in collaboration with young artist Tieu Suong.
